Yokohama Rubber to supply its BluEarth-XT AE61 as OE on Toyota’s Yaris Cross

Toyota Motor Corporation will get original equipment (OE) BluEarth-XT AE61 tires from Yokohama Rubber for use in the company’s new small SUV, the Yaris Cross, which debuted in Thailand in October 2023. Tire sizes 215/60R17 96H and 215/55R18 95V are installed on the Yaris Cross.

The BluEarth-XT AE61 is a summer tire designed especially for use on crossover urban SUVs, according to Yokohama Rubber. The tire’s performance, according to the company, was attained via the use of a proprietary method to forecast the values of important tire attributes. This system was built on Yokohama Rubber’s own HAICoLab, an AI-based development framework designed to promote new discoveries and digital innovation.

According to Yokohama Rubber, the technologies used in the tire creation process are founded on fresh information gathered via the collection of real data and virtual data produced by simulations, followed by the application of AI’s forecast, analyze, and search capabilities.

According to Yokohama Rubber, it is actively creating tires using its BluEarth tire technology. A large number of these tires are currently factory-installed on gasoline-powered, hybrid, and electric vehicles (EVs), including a wide range of new car models, including the newest sedans, SUVs, sports cars, and compact cars.
